Introduction and Background
John has worked with numerous start-ups – advising them on their business and funding strategy and what it takes to get a project from the initial stages through the funding journey to a business of scale.
Previously he was manager in Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) Division supporting new and early-stage technology-based firms. The HPSU division supports entrepreneurs to explore the feasibility of their idea and develop investor-ready Business Plans and achieve success.
HPSU also co-invests start-up companies [over 200 technology start-ups per year] – including seed investment, Series A and Series B financing rounds.
John has assessed and advised many technology startups, both B2B and B2C across a wide range of sectors – food and consumer products; the Industrial sector [including engineering, clean-tech and life-sciences]; and software, communications and digital media sectors.
John also managed Enterprise Ireland’s Competitive Start Fund [CSF] for early stage projects.
